Peeling & Shedding
My skin is peeling, shedding, or has visible dry patches.

Why This Happens
Peeling is a sign of accelerated skin cell turnover, which is exactly what exfoliating ingredients are designed to do. As old, damaged cells are shed faster, new healthier skin is revealed underneath. This is most common in the first 1–3 weeks of using acid-based products.
Normal — No Action Needed
- •Light, fine peeling around treated areas
- •Peeling that can be gently removed with moisturizer
- •Peeling that decreases gradually over 2–3 weeks
- •Skin underneath looks smoother and clearer
Warning — Take Action
- •Deep, painful peeling that exposes raw skin
- •Large patches of skin lifting or cracking
- •Peeling accompanied by oozing, bleeding, or extreme sensitivity
- •Peeling that worsens week after week instead of improving
What to Do
Apply a rich moisturizer immediately after active products
Reduce exfoliant usage to every other day or twice per week
Do not pick or pull at peeling skin — let it shed naturally
Use gentle, non-abrasive cleansing to avoid further irritation
Consider adding a hydrating serum or ceramide product
When to Stop and Seek Help
If peeling is painful, exposes raw skin, or is accompanied by bleeding/oozing, stop all active products immediately. Keep skin moisturized with a simple barrier cream and consult a dermatologist.
