Use Cases

Daytime or overnight spot treatmentEmergency breakout rescue

Use with Caution If

Open wounds or freshly popped pimplesAlready using strong retinoids on the same spot

Day 1–3

Slight drying and tingling. A visible white layer may remain on treated spots after application.

Day 4–7

Some pimples may appear to come to a head faster and look temporarily more obvious — this is normal "accelerated maturation" as the formula brings deep clogs to the surface. They will begin to dry down and recover faster.

Day 7–14

Mild peeling around treated areas as the blemish heals.

When to Worry

Widespread redness, severe burning, or swelling beyond the treated spot.

Mistake

Shaking the bottle before use

Why It's Bad

The white powder layer must stay separated so the formula works as intended.

Do Instead

Dip the cotton swab straight to the bottom without shaking.

Mistake

Applying all over the face

Why It's Bad

Can cause excessive drying and irritation on healthy skin.

Do Instead

Only dab on individual active pimples.

Mistake

Layering over retinol

Why It's Bad

Double exfoliation may cause burns or severe peeling.

Do Instead

Use the drying lotion on nights you skip other actives, or apply only on spots.

#1My skin is too dry or flaky

Reduce application to every other day. Ensure you are applying a moisturizer over untreated areas.

#2It stings when applied

A mild tingling is normal. If it burns painfully, wash off immediately and pause use for 48 hours.

#3The pimple looks bigger, redder, or more obvious at first

This is the "accelerated maturation" process: Salicylic acid unclogs pores and dissolves blockages, colloidal sulfur promotes dead skin cell turnover, Piroctone Olamine inhibits acne-related bacteria, and Zinc Oxide soothes redness and stabilizes the skin. Together, these bring clogged material (inflammatory products hiding deep in the skin) to the surface faster. The blemish may look temporarily bigger or redder as it matures, but recovery is usually quicker. If irritation spreads beyond the treated area, pause and simplify your routine.
