Use with Caution If

Very sensitive or compromised skin barrierAlready using other acid-based products daily — do not layer multiple acids

Day 1–3

Mild tingling upon application. Skin feels smoother within hours.

Day 4–7

T-zone oil noticeably reduced. Some purging may occur — pre-existing hidden clogs or micro-comedones may accelerate to the surface, turning into visible pimples before quickly drying down. This is temporary and typically happens in the first 2–4 weeks.

Day 7–14

Pores look refined, blackheads reduced, texture smoother.

When to Worry

Severe burning, peeling, or rash that doesn't resolve in 24 hours.

Mistake

Using it daily from day one

Why It's Bad

Skin needs time to build tolerance to acids.

Do Instead

Start every other night, increase to nightly after 1-2 weeks.

Mistake

Using it in the morning

Why It's Bad

Acid toners increase photosensitivity. Morning use combined with sun exposure undermines results and risks irritation.

Do Instead

Use only in the evening. Apply sunscreen the next morning.

Mistake

Combining with retinol or other acids on the same night

Why It's Bad

Double exfoliation risk can cause chemical burns or severe peeling.

Do Instead

Alternate nights: acid toner one night, retinol the next. Do not use other acid products alongside this toner.

#1Skin feels tingly or slightly red after applying

This is normal for the first few uses. If it persists beyond 10 minutes, rinse off and skip a day.

#2Closed comedones seem worse initially

This is purging — the acid is pushing existing clogs to the surface. Stick with it for 2–3 weeks.

#3Scattered new pimples appearing (purging)

Pre-existing hidden clogs and micro-comedones are being accelerated to the surface, maturing into visible breakouts before drying down. This typically happens in the first 2–4 weeks. To manage: reduce the amount (use half a pump or apply only to problem areas), or try the short-contact method — apply for 5–10 minutes, then rinse off, gradually building tolerance.
